July 2, 2018; Ludlow, VT – The Ludlow-based Black River Independent School Committee, an official tax-exempt organization, is pursuing their mission to open a local independent school. BRISC has been actively working on approval from the Vermont Board of Education to establish Black River Academy, an independent school serving grades 7-12 in Ludlow and Mount Holly and beyond. The group is poised to submit the application by the end of the summer.
BRISC will host the first in a series of informational events Friday, July 6 at the Ludlow Farmers Market. Students, parents, and community members are encouraged to stop by the market with their questions and input for the committee.
