Megan Harlow Jenkins
Megan Jenkins, ABD Ph.D is a BRHS Alumni class of 2003. She went onto complete her BA in Political Science from The University of Vermont (UVM). At UVM she entered competitive intercollegiate debate. She was a national champion debater and went onto coach debate and teach public speaking while obtaining her MA in Communications at Kansas State University. Megan went onto pursue her Ph.D. in Communication Philosophy from The European Graduate School in Saas-Fee, Switzerland. While there she attended courses at New York University. She worked as the Senior Content Editor for the EGS website for 4 years. Megan was a founder of the original Iraq Debate Academy in 2010 in Duhok, Iraq. She worked as a debate coach and faculty at numerous University including; Kansas State, University of Tampere, Finland, Lubjiana, Slovenia, Bard College, University of Vermont, Southern New Hampshire University, Eastern Gateway Community College, Lord Fairfax Community College and Castleton University. Megan has published on the topics of virtual identity, cyberfeminism, debate and public speaking. She has worked on grant and project development for EU projects and Vermont based programs. She is also mother to three children under the age of seven. She currently lives in Mount Holly Vermont and is co-owner of Jenkins Builders and works as an adjunct faculty for SNHU and Castleton. She also writes for the Vermont Journal and serves as co-president of the Mount Holly Parent Teacher Association. Megan is passionate about keeping a local education option in Ludlow and believes strongly in the strength of the community to create a truly unique and thriving school that can create and nurture independent, engaged and passionate graduates.
